The Sunday Post #3

Posted by Jenea @ Jenea's Book Obsession in Sunday Post / 44 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!

Another busy week has come and gone. They changed my husband shift, so our sleeping schedule is all messed up now. I guess it works our alright, I need to start being up earlier because the kids start school here soon. My son was not a happy camper this week at all, they didn’t take his braces off. My husband and are not happy either. The other orthodontist in the office said nope he needs to keep them on longer, so he overrode my sons actual orthodontist. What the hell! They got him all excited, had all the tools and everything all ready to take them off and then didn’t. But we’ll see what say next month, I might have to become mean Momma in the office though. I managed to get some pretty good reading done, hopefully I can ahead here soon. Also got some new goodies too. How about you, how was your week? πŸ™‚

What a great collection there! I’m so sorry about the brace thing with your son. I know that had to be disappointing, but as you mentioned, next month is right around the corner. Hope your Sunday is amazing! Hugs…

4 more weeks isn’t a long wait, especially when you have had the braces on for so long right? hopefully it ends up well for you and hubby too!

  3. Kristin @ Addicted to HEA

NOOOOOO!! Be BOSS-mommy and get the braces off!! It sounds like there’s some in-office tension between the orthodontists. What right does one have to override the other? Can you talk to a hygienist who might know a thing or two and advise you what to do? That is seriously messed up, in my opinion. I had braces on for years so I know how disappointing that would be. I’m mad for your son now… grrrrrrr…

I’m curious what you’ll think about “Speak easy…” – I have it on my watch list but I didn’t grab it. I’m iffy on it.

πŸ™‚ Have a great week, girl!!

We thought the same thing about the orthodontist. He’s had them on now for 3 years, and his teeth look great, so we are getting aggravated they didn’t even tell him where to put the bands or anything. So something is definitely going on in that office. Hopefully next month though, or mean Momma is coming out. lol…

Oh No! Your poor son. I have a feeling my daughter is going to need them and I know she will not be happy at all. That is a bummer that they got him all excited, I hope they take them off next month.

I need to grab Silent Child, I love her books that she write under another name. She writes the Mary Hades series and those are a little scary.

I hope you have a great week, Jenea! Happy Reading! πŸ™‚

  5. Yvonne

Aww…sorry your son didn’t get to have the braces off.

Enjoy your upcoming books and have a great week!

  6. Stormi Johnson

I hope you get your sleeping regulated, I hate when that happens. Your poor son to be all excited and then not to get those braces off, you need to be mean Momma.

Have a great week and happy reading!

Your poor son! I can only imagine how excited he was, and then whomp! denied! They should not toy with a child’s emotions like that. ((Hugs)) to him. I am curious about Speak Easy. It seems like it could be epic.

  8. Greg

I can see where that would be frustrating about the braces! Poor guy. I bet he can’t wait til next month. πŸ™‚

Before She Ignites and Speak Easy Speak Love both look interesting.

  9. sjhigbee

So sorry about the mix-up over the braces:(. Hopefully once he starts back at school, the month will slide past without him worrying too much about it. I also wore braces for three years when I was a girl – and I’m very grateful about it now. But I fully understand what a blow it must have been for him.
You have some really interesting books there – Before She Ignites particularly caught my eye. Hope this week is a bit easier. Thank you for swinging by:)

    • Jenea @ Jenea's Book Obsession

They told him last month that when he came this time he would be getting them off, but then they didn’t. It just made everything worse for him. Hopefully this month will go by fast for him.

Thank you, I am hoping for a calmer week too. Ha, what am I saying…. lol

  10. Geybie's Book Blog

Sorry to hear about your son’s braces. It must be so frustrating for him. I hope there will be a good news next month.
I hope you enjoy your books and have a wonderful week.

  11. Anastasia

Hope you’ll get used to new sleeping schedule soon! 5 blog posts! (or more…) That’s an awesome amount! Have a wonderful week πŸ™‚

  12. Maureen Bakker

Sorry to hear about your son’s braces. That really sucks! And how unfair of them to make him happy first and then change the plan.
I also have ‘Silent Child’ on my TBR. Sounds like a good read.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  13. Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

I can’t imagine how disappointed your son was. That stinks. Looks like you got some great books. Enjoy and have a great week!!

  14. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Ugh, shift work can be tough. Especially trying to adjust when the shift changes. What a disappointment for your son. πŸ™ Hopefully they’ll take the braces off next month. Hope you have a great week!

  15. Evelina

Oh, I hope you can figure out the braces conundrum πŸ™‚ poor guy! Everyone would be unhappy.
Have a great reading week with your new books! πŸ™‚

  16. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

Oh wow, I hope your schedule becomes easier for you soon. I never like it when mine or my husband’s schedule change so much that it disrupts my sleep. Everything seems to spiral out of control for a few weeks until I adjust to the new schedule.

You have such a great book haul this week too. Before She Ignites and Speak Easy, Speak Love are two that I’m dying to read.

  17. Lola

A change in your sleeping schedule is always a bit difficult to adjust too. I hope you’ll get to used to that soon. And that’s annoying they got your son excited to get his braces off and then they didn’t. I hope you’ll have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  18. Di @ Book Reviews by Di

Oh Shame – sorry about your son’s braces. I hope next month works out for him.

I hope you manage to get enough sleep!

Before she ignites looks awesome – I hope it lives up to the cover and the synopsis! I’m quite excited for that one.

Hope you’re having a good week!
