The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!

This was the last week of summer break at our house. Both my kids start school tomorrow, and neither of them are looking forward to this year for some reason. I think they’ve gotten used to sleeping in. lol… I tried to get reading done, but it seems I have spent more time in my car running around getting the kids ready for school. I need to get some audio books. πŸ™‚ I did read 3 books at least, and I picked up just a couple new goodies this week. So, that’s about it for my week.

How about you?

I love your book recommendations! I’m overdoing my reading list myself but these have definitely been added. I recently finished the book, ‘The City of Ember”! I had never heard of it before! I’ve added a few of your mentioned books to my goodreads list πŸ™‚

My cousin who has become my phone buddy starts on Tuesday, thank the Lord. I don’t mind chatting games with him or playing them but not all the time…lol.

    Happy reading!

  3. Whitney

House of Shadows sounds fantastic — I hope you enjoy it! I’m impressed that you read three books considering what a busy week you’ve had. I hope your kids have a good first day of school.

  4. Greg

Yeah it’s hard for me to believe that school is starting for some already. We have a few weeks yet here but it’s coming! Summer has flown by… 3 books is awesome!

I think Beneath the Surface looks good.

I was always excited to get back to school and see my friends, sort out new classes and who to sit next to…after a couple of weeks that excitement wore off!

  6. Kristin @ Addicted to HEA

We don’t start school until the day after Labor Day so we still have time (same schedule as Greg up there). I kind of wish we started earlier, though. Summer is starting to drag a little bit right now (that’s bad to say, right???!!!)

I saw Blackbird the other day and it look interesting. I’ll have to see what you think. Have a great week!

I never started till after Labor Day either, but my kids start earlier and earlier every year. We live so far away from everything, it makes it hard for us to go and find things to do for fun. So yeah, I understand what you mean about the summer kinda dragging.

Although it has been a while since I had to deal back to school (my daughter is in grad school and I “retired” from teaching in 2014), I remember how hectic it can be. It’s nice when everyone is back into the groove and things calm down. When She Ignites will be my first Meadows book (although I own several), so I am eager to hear your thoughts.

Hopefully back to school goes well! As a teacher, its hard for ME to get into the back to school swing so I feel their pain! Enjoy your books!

  9. Lauren

I feel like no kids ever look forward to going back to school, especially when it means trading in sleeping in for getting up early lol hope the transition back to school goes easily for you all! I’ve been curious about House of Shadows ever since I saw it featured in a Publisher’s Weekly email so I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Happy reading, and have a great week! πŸ™‚

I still have a couple weeks before school starts, but it seems like my weekends are filled with shopping. I hate shopping, unless it’s for books then I’m cool. I don’t think it’s really sunk in for mine that the summer’s almost over.

  11. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

It feels so strange not to be getting ready for a school year in one way or another… Our daughter graduated from college in May and is taking a year off before possibly continuing on to grad school, so there’s no push to get everything ready, or get her moved in, or anything like that. After years of school, then homeschooling high school, then college…it just feels weird. I hope your kids have a better year than they are expecting!

  12. Yvonne

The Art of Hiding sounds wonderful. I have it from NetGalley and looking forward to reading it. I can’t believe summer is already ending. Hope you have a great week!

  13. kimbacaffeinate

I hope the kids come home tomorrow all excited about school. I use to read so many books during the school year in the dang car line for pickup! Hope you have a wonderful week!

  14. Laura Thomas

I’m liking the look of all of your books. I remember when school started and having to get my son back in the routine. He’s graduated now but still wants to sleep in. LOL

  15. sjhigbee

Our children have a few weeks more before they return to school – I cannot believe the summer is speeding by so fast! Many thanks for your kind good wishes and visiting my blog:). Hope your children do settle back down into the school routine very quickly.

  16. Evelina

I’ve also got House of Shadows. But not hurrying to read it yet, as the review isn’t due for a few months yet. Totally curious though πŸ™‚

Schools have started since two weeks ago here. I hope you get to read some great audiobooks. I’ve just dived into audiobooks last week and I enjoyed it. We can read books anywhere while doing something and it’s awesome. Happy reading and have a wonderful week, Jenea. 😁❀️

  18. Julie @ Happily Ever Chapter

My friend’s kids start school next week and they’ve all been complaining about it too. lol! My daughter starts PreK at the beginning of Sept. She’s so excited! I’m pretty sure she thinks it’s just going to be playtime…no matter how much I tell her it’s not. We’ll see how it goes. lol! Hope you love your new books and have a great week!

  19. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Hope the first day of school went well! Today is my niece’s first day back. It’s always a relief to settle back into the regular routine. Hope your week is off to a great start!

  20. Lola

Must be busy getting your kids ready for school, hopefully you have some more time to read this week when they’re back to school. But that’s neat you still read 3 books this week. Have a great week!

  21. Di @ Book Reviews by Di

I’m late! I’m sorry! I’ve been away for a couple of weeks and just catching up now. I’m glad you had a good week and I hoep that going ‘back to school’ hasn’t been too hard on anyone!
