Can’t-Wait Wednesday #6 The Ravenous by Amy Lukavics

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well!

Since we are coming up on September and Halloween candy is being put out already, so I figured it time to start looking for some scary reads. I read the blurb to my daughter who says to me, ” wow Momma that sounds your kinda read…” She knows me so well. lol.. It does sounds frightening for sure but so awesome! And the wait isn’t long now either. And that cover! *shivers*

The Ravenous
by Amy Lukavics
Expected Publication: September 26th 2017
Published: Harlequin Teen
Genre: Young Adult Horror

From the outside, the Cane family looks like they have it all. A successful military father, a loving mother and five beautiful teenage daughters. But on the inside, life isn’t quite so idyllic: the Cane sisters can barely stand each other, their father is always away, and their neglectful mother struggles with addiction and depression.

When their youngest and most beloved sister, Rose, dies in a tragic accident, Mona Cane and her sisters are devastated. And when she is brought back from the dead, they are relieved. But soon they discover that Rose must eat human flesh to survive, and when their mother abandons them, the sisters will find out just how far they’ll go to keep their family together.

I’ve seen this book on the blogs and I’m curious to see some reviews on it before I make a decision. I’m having a nice horror month in October and I’m already getting books set aside for that!

  2. RO

No, no, no Jenea!(lol) I used to read and watch the scary stuff when I was much younger, but now I’m too wimpy. I’ll take that candy though *heh* Hugs…RO

I have to be honest here….this is definitely NOT my type of read AT ALL. I avoid the horror genre completely. But I’m firmly committed to commenting back on every blog that comments on mine, so that’s why I’m here! <3 <3

I do hope you enjoy this, Jenea! Me, I'm too much of a BIG CHICKEN to even go there!! Lol.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting on my CWW post!! <3 <3 <3 πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I am very picky about the horror type books I will read. I have to say though, this does sound good! I hope you enjoy it. I’ll have to keep my eye out for it. Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend.

I do like zombie stuff (though, ironically enough, not flesh eating stuff) and family dynamics… but I think I’ll wait for your review on this one.

This is the second time I have seen this today, and well, the cover is still scary, but I guess since there is a cannibal character in the book, it fits the move. Hope it give you the scary feels you are looking for.

lol I went to Michael’s yesterday and was shocked to see Halloween decorations. It’s still August! But one of the reasons I love fall is the spooky books!

  8. Lauren

Ooo scary books are some of my absolute favorites so I’m intrigued by this one! And that cover is certainly eerie. Great pick, Jenea! πŸ™‚

  9. Laura

Definitely creepy cover. I like horror, but I’m not so keen on zombie-ish stories. Still, I really hope you enjoy it! And thanks for coming by.
