Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well!

I came across this one day while just searching around on Goodreads, and it caught my attention. From the cover to the blurb it had me. I can’t wait to get my hands on it, these two girls journey sounds like an emotional one. The wait is kinda long, but I think it will be worth the wait.

Eighteen-year-old twins Adina and Tovah have little in common besides their ambitious nature. Viola prodigy Adina yearns to become a soloist—and to convince her music teacher he wants her the way she wants him. Overachiever Tovah awaits her acceptance to Johns Hopkins, the first step on her path toward med school and a career as a surgeon.

But one thing could wreck their carefully planned futures: a genetic test for Huntington’s, a rare degenerative disease that slowly steals control of the body and mind. It’s turned their Israeli mother into a near stranger and fractured the sisters’ own bond in ways they’ll never admit. While Tovah finds comfort in their Jewish religion, Adina rebels against its rules.

When the results come in, one twin tests negative for Huntington’s. The other tests positive.

These opposite outcomes push them farther apart as they wrestle with guilt, betrayal, and the unexpected thrill of first love. How can they repair their relationship, and is it even worth saving?

From debut author Rachel Lynn Solomon comes a luminous, heartbreaking tale of life, death, and the fragile bond between sisters.

LOVE the sound of this one – I love stories about sisters, especially twins, and this sounds like it could be a heartbreaker!

Oh this sounds like a really powerful read. I can’t imagine being the twin who was negative – it’s almost like survivor’s guilt, but early, you know?

Plus, I love books that focus on siblings!

Sounds like an emotional roller-coaster. Love those kind of books. Wonder which twin tested positive. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I’m curious about the story and would love to read it too 🙂

OH that sounds devastating. We grew up with a family in our neighborhood whose father had Huntingtons it was awful. One of the siblings tested positive in their family too. I am so sad for her.

This one sounds like such a tough read! It definitely would be a tear-jerker. I’d have to be in the right kind of mood to enjoy it, but it definitely sounds interesting to me. Nice pick!
