Sunday Post #14

Posted by Jenea @ Jenea's Book Obsession in Sunday Post / 16 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!

I missed last weeks Sunday Post. My surgery didn’t go as well as expected, and I was still pretty groggy from the pain medicine for most of the weekend. I had oral surgery to remove my entire row of bottom teeth, treatments for other health issues contributed to the removal. They almost had to dislocate my jaw to get them, so I looked pretty much like a chipmunk for the past week. I can’t eat solid food, or drink anything hot. Coffee!!! It is killing, luckily, I haven’t harmed anyone else because of the lack of coffee… Yet…. The swelling has went down a little now, so eating has become a little better, but talking isn’t something I enjoy trying to do at all. It was not a fun experience at all but I am glad it is over. My birthday was Friday, but it started off kinda shaky, the doctor called with our sons results and they are going to be sending him to a kidney specialist. But as a family we spent the weekend out together shopping and just spending time together. We’ll just have to wait and see what this doctor says and face it all together. The weather here has been nice and this week they say the moutains may say a flurry or two. My husband has started his yearly, “when are we moving back to Florida?” speech already. lol….

Blog wise, it was kinda slow for me this week, trying to get back in groove a little, and get my daughter back on schedule with her school work. I’m not where I would like to be with my reading, so I am hoping to get caught up this week. I did get a few goodies over the past 2 weeks and I am looking forward to them. I will post them in my next Sunday Post. So, that is pretty much it for me. How about you>?

I’m so sorry to hear this, Jenea. I hope you’re feeling better soon, my friend. I hope your son’s results are good too. Sending you and your family a good thought. #hugs
I hope you enjoy your reading this week. Have a wonderful week and happy reading, my friend. ❤️❤️❤️

I hope you’re feeling better soon! Your surgery doesn’t sound pleasant at all 🙁

I also hope you end up with a good kidney specialist for your son! I saw a couple before I found one I liked, and he has managed my issues well. Kidneys are finicky things, my fingers are crossed that you get some solid answers about what’s going on.

    Have a good week <3

  3. Sam@WLABB

You are dealing with a lot of medical issues at home. I hope you are healing well, and that you get some answers about your son’s health soon. That must be so stressful, and then not being able to drink coffee, that is just inhumane. I hope you have a healing week.

So sorry to hear about your surgery. I hope the thing with your son isn’t serious. I can’t imagine the stress you are under right now. Take the time you need, your readers will still be here when you get back. Take care of yourself. Have a good week!

  5. Lola

I am sorry to hear that your surgery didn’t go well. That sounds very painful and annoying you can’t even drink coffee. I hope this week is a better one for you!

Oh, all these years later, I still remember my wisdom teeth extractions! Just so you know, it was in the 1970s. But I had three children then, so it was not a relaxing time.

Good luck with the kidney specialist.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  7. Samantha

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry you aren’t healing as quickly as you’d hoped. And I hope your son is okay too. Glad you were able to enjoy some time with your family! Maybe iced coffee??? I mean to be in pain AND not get coffee? That just seems like a horrible punishment!
    Hope this week is great!

Wow, it sounds like you had a doozie of a week. I hope you are feeling better soon. I will keep your son in my thoughts. I am with your hubby, we plan to move back to Florida eventually and every winter I tell him I am ready.

  9. chucklesthescot

Jeez that was a week from hell for sure. *shudders* I hope that you are back to full health real soon…have you tried iced coffee? Very tasty and gives the coffee hit while not being hot. I used to drink latte in that form every day.

  10. Jen Ryland

Jenea – I am so sorry about what you’ve been going through. Oral surgery can be so painful! I have had a horrible time with it – I couldn’t eat and then had a bad reaction to some medication. Will be thinking of you and hope you are feeling better soon!
