The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!

Another busy week has come and gone. With Dr’s appt, and dentist’s appt’s, I think we spend more time in the car than at home. lol.. My husband and I did binge watch Power season 3 on Hulu, now the wait for season 4 begins. We are supposed to get some snow today… It’s not even November yet. Ugh… Anyway, we did get some news about our son, and he had more tests ran this week, he’s going to been sent to an Endocrinologist, and if this doesn’t turn up anything they will go back to the kidney issue. The poor kid says he’s becoming a human pin cushion. But he tells me the nurse who does the blood draw is “hot” so, I guess that makes it all better. 16 year old boys. *sighs*

I’m still trying to get all caught up on my reading, and blogging. I hate being behind, it bugs me. I ordered a new Kindle mine is slowly dying. It just powers itself off when it feels the need to. My daughter told me that was a sign that I read so much even my kindle gets tired of me looking up books and reading. πŸ™‚ I got some new goodies this week and can’t wait to read them. Well, I think that is about it. How was your week?

Haha 16 year old boys indeed…at least he’s found a silver lining? πŸ˜›

Enjoy your new kindle when it arrives! And I hope all your new reads are good ones πŸ™‚

  2. Lauren

Snow already?! That’s insane. We’re getting a lot of rain where I am today (about 2 inches overall) and it’s just so incredibly dreary. That’s too funny about your son! Boys always seem to find the bright side to things when ‘hot’ girls are involved lol I’m loving the cover of The English Wife. I feel that the fire gives it a good creepy feeling. Have a great week, Jenea!

My husband just call on his way to work to tell me it’s snowing down the mountain, so it’s coming my way. Ugh. My dog hates going out in the snow. My son can be quite funny. πŸ˜‰

I am looking forward to reading The English Wife, it sounds like it will be really good. *fingers crossed*

  3. Stormi Johnson

Man, sounds like your kid has it rough. I hope they can figure things out. It made me laugh about the nurse but that’s a teenager for you…lol.

You got some great books and I need to check some of them out. πŸ™‚

Happy reading and have a great week!

We have actually HAD snow already. Brr. Not a fan of winter, me.
I hope your son is better soon, or at least there’s more info.
That is probably true about your Kindle getting tired πŸ˜€ I can understand that. With how much we read… πŸ™‚

  5. Sam@WLABB

Your poor son! I hope you get some answers soon. Your daughter is adorable, but I have to admit, I sort of want something to happen to my Kindle because the Oasis looks incredible.

  6. A Voracious Reader

Most of my 2017 has been like your week, but luckily it’s settled down. Whew! I hope you can get some answers about your son, but at least he’s not letting it get him down. Let’s hear it for hot nurses. lol

  7. Laurel-Rain Snow

Oh, I am worried about my Kindle dying…It hasn’t started powering off yet, but sometimes the page turns off.

What kind did you order? I have a Paperwhite, which I love…I’m afraid to try something new without recommendations.

Into the Darkest Corner was my first book by Elizabeth Haynes…and I’ve been a fan ever since. Enjoy!

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

I ordered the Fire HD 10 Tablet with Alexa Hands-Free. It’s a little bigger than the one I have now, but I like that it has Alexa built in.

I do tho the Dollar Tree all the time, they have a lot of books, most of them are a little older, but sometimes I find some really good ones. I think over the past year I’ve found about 45 or so from there. And only for only a dollar a piece. Yay!

  8. sjhigbee

I love the fact that your son thinks his nurse is hot:)). Best of luck with his ongoing issues. And I hope it gets warmer – thank you swinging by, Jenea:)

  9. Bookish

    Hey,
All those books look very interesting. I’m making a note of them so I can read later. Are we friends on goodreads? I feel like we have so many books in common.

    Have a good week!

  10. Laura Thomas

Boys will be boys.LOL Hopefully you can get the issues resolved. So many great looking books. I spy some with winter covers. I love stories set in winter even though I don’t do cold well myself. And you mentioned snow? Already! We just had a cold snap blow through and I’m ready for summer again. LOL

Glad to hear you didn’t get any bad news about your son. I hope things turn out okay. I know I would be freaking out.
I am also sorry to hear about your Kindle. It looks like it is time for an upgrade! I envy you to get a new Kindle. My Miguel surprised me with a Kindle Fire 10, the big one. I really love it.
You got so many new good looking books this week. I hope you enjoy them all. Have a good week!

    • Jenea @ Jenea's Book Obsession

That’s the Kindle I ordered, I’m pretty excited to for it to get here. We are hoping that they get last weeks blood work back early this week and find out a little more about what’s going on. Thanks for stopping by. πŸ™‚

  12. Samantha

I really want the new Kindle Oasis….alas I do not have $250 to spend on a new kindle. My paperwhite works just fine.
I am curious to read your thoughts on the SL Scott books. I have been seeing them around lately and admit they sound interesting!

  13. Geybie's Book Blog

Haha.. your son is hilarious. I hope his results are all great. I’m planning to buy a new kindle or maybe a new iPad. Still thinking about it. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a wonderful week. 😁❀️

  14. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Hard to imagine snow anywhere right now! It’s in the 60’s here but by the weekend it will be back up to almost 80. Fall in FL. *sigh* Glad your son at least has a sense of humor about all the dr. visits. πŸ™‚ Sorry to hear about your Kindle dying out but exciting to get a new one. I know a lot of people swear by the Paperwhite’s but I’ve had two Fire’s in a row and really loved them.

    • Jenea @ Jenea's Book Obsession

Most of the snow will melt away today, we’re in the low 50’s. My family lives in Fla and they are still having fairly warm weather too. I am pretty excited for the new Kindle. I have a Fire now, and it has lasted quite a while, but it was time.

  15. chucklesthescot

I hate endless tests like that…sadly the doctors doing that to me were all old men at the time!!! The newspapers are trying to tell us that this will be the worst winter ever…they say that every year!

    • Jenea @ Jenea's Book Obsession

Us too, we wish we could do something to help him. Hopefully they get it figured out soon. I think it will be a pretty bad winter here as well, it’s been a few years since we had a bad one so I guess we are due for one.

  16. Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

Oh I know those weeks where it seems like you spend more time in the car then anywhere else. Ugh to snow. Stinks about all the Dr. visits. Hope you get your new kindle quick. Have a great week!

  17. vvb

Your winter themed books are catching my eye as I am gearing up for the holiday season πŸ˜‰
    Happy reading!

  18. Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight

I’m sorry for your son, I know how he feels re: the human pincushion cuz I’ve felt that way too, hopefully they’ll figure it out! But I love his outlook that it’s ok because the nurse is hot, haha. Enjoy your new books!

  19. Lola

That’s too bad you had a doctor and dentist appointment in the same week. Sorry to hear about your kindle dying, I hope your new one arrives son. Have a great week!
