The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!

It’s officially 2018! I hope everyone had a great New Years! We stayed home, and watched the ball drop in NYC. It was so cold here and we live far away from most big cities there, so there isn’t much to do anyway. We played xbox one, and watched movies. Our weather here is still kinda crazy, we haven’t been above freezing for over a week. Our pipes froze at the beginning of the week even though we left the water trickling. Sometimes I miss living in town, it doesn’t get as much snow. And they are at a lower elevation, so it doesn’t get the mountain winds like we do up here. But, it’s so beautiful and quiet here. So, we just kinda deal with it. We do have 40’s coming next weekend, which will feel like a heat wave. Lol… Maybe my son will actually go to school too, they were out all last week due to extreme cold and snow.

Blog wise, was pretty good. I’m back to normal posting, took a couple days break during the holidays. I have finally managed to be ahead with scheduling and reviews are written up to the last week in Janurary! This week I did get some pretty amazing new goodies. And now I’m just stalking the mail-lady for my Book Of the Month box. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ The choices this month were really good! So, I think that’s about it for me. How was your New Years and the first week of 2018?

Hope you had a great New Year’s! Ours was quiet but nice. and yeah the snow and cold are sticking around here too, is it spring yet? ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats on the January reviews. You have some good looking thrillers it looks like in your haul this week…

  2. Lover Of Romance

oh what a week you have had, and I bet you guys have been really cold. Our weather here has been so warm for January in Utah hehe so we are enjoying it but hope it warms up for you soon!!!

  3. Sam@WLABB

I am curious about The Lies They Tell. Sounds interesting. I am excited about See All The Stars. Can’t wait to read it. I loved The Ivy Years, and The Year We Hid Away was so good. Hope you enjoy it. BTW, I am jealous that you will have temps in the 40s. We are forecasted for the 30s and I was pretty excited about it. Keep warm and have a great week!

  4. Laura Thomas

Wow. That’s a great haul of books! We had freezing temps each night this week. Finally starting to warm up and back to 60s this coming week. I hibernated and read some books and watched some shows.

I’ve heard about weather being crazy over at the States! We normally have really wintry weather at this time of the year, but we basically have late autumn now, and what they say on TV is that the US snatched our cold weather ๐Ÿ˜€ cause apparently you have our weather now. So weird!
    Have a great week ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Wow, that’s some seriously cold weather. I’m still laughing at 40’s feeling like a heatwave. LOL We have a play-off game here today (football) and it everyone is talking about how everyone will be because it’s in the 50’s. Ha! Of course, all the Bills fans coming down from NY will think it’s practically beach weather! LOL I also downloaded The Year We Hid Away last week. I love Sarina Bowen and you can’t beat free! And Until It Fades was one of my favorites for 2017. Loved that one!

So jealous that you are scheduled to the end of January. I have been slow getting back on track after Christmas, and now feel a bit overwhelmed with all the reviews I need to write. One step at a time though!
Stay warm, your weather sounds both beautiful and scary!

  8. RO

I love the cold weather, but I sure hate to hear about people having trouble with pipes because that’s a serious inconvenience for sure. Looks like you got some good reads to get you started for the year. I’m glad that you had a good New Year’s too. Hugs and Happy Sunday! RO

I’ve been watching these winter storms on CNN and they are seriously bad. It’s a bit cold here but nothing on that scale! I’m cold just watching it on tv!

I am at my parents in the Appalachian mountains and it is REALLY cold here also.. My friend said it is even colder where I live in Cleveland. I really hope it warms up soon as I am getting a serious case of cabin fever!

  11. Trin Carl

Man, your pipes froze. So sad. Its been a crazy winter. And that Bomb cyclone. Wow, they have created more ways for us to get excited about winter than one.#Sundaypost

  12. sjhigbee

That sounds perishing! I hope your weather soon improves – I hate the white stuff and though we get lots of gloom, cold winds and rain at least snow is rare! Have a great week, hopefully warmer!

  13. Lily

HAPPY New Year! Oh no sorry to hear about your pipes ๐Ÿ™ our neighbors pipes froze as well, it’s been so cold but the weather looks like it’s about to take a turn for higher temps so kind of excited!
Enjoy your new books, they look so good

  14. Samantha

Its been really cold here as well. Thankfully, its suppose to get a bit warmer this week. It will be the first time we are above freezing in 18 days. Thats a long time for us. Lots of schools were closed friday because it was too cold for the kids that have to walk to school (common in some of the small, local districts here).
    Hope you enjoy your week!

In town they don’t get a whole bunch of snow, but we get it up here in the mountain, so the buses can’t run an pick up kids, so the entire school system closes. Hopefully, you’ll get some warmer weather soon!

  15. Yvonne

We’ve been having cold weather this week too. Supposedly next week will be better and feel like a heatwave. LOL Enjoy your books and have a great week!

  16. Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

Happy New Year! Stinks about the pipes. We have had that crazy cold here too. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  17. Literary Feline

I hope the cold subsides for you this coming week. I have been following the news about the extreme cold and snow lately. I can’t even imagine. I hope you enjoy all your new books, Jenea! Have a great week.

  18. ShootingStarsMag

Happy New Year! I hope you get some warmer weather soon. I have The Chalk Man to read next, so hopefully you enjoyed it. I think it sounds really good. ๐Ÿ™‚

That sounds like a nice new year’s eve! It does sound like you live in a beautiful place, but that is annoying your pipes froze and it’s so cold. We had some cold weather here as well, although no snow so far. Have a great week!
