When two young boys discover human bones buried beneath a tree in a trailer park, Detective Josie Quinn races to join her team at the scene. She used to play in those woods as a child, happier outside and away from her abusive mother, Belinda Rose.

Josie’s past crashes into her present when a rare dental condition confirms the bones belong to a teenage foster-child who was murdered thirty years ago. A girl named Belinda Rose…

Josie hasn’t seen her mother in years but, with an undeniable connection between her mother and the dead girl, does she dare try to track her down?

Just as Josie gets closer to uncovering a secret that will shatter her world forever, another body is uncovered. It’s suddenly clear that someone very close to Josie will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried forever.

As she battles the demons from her past, can Josie stop this killer before another precious life is taken?

In this installment of the series Josie Quinn finds her self the depths of a new engrossing case. One that hits a little close to home for her. It all starts when two young boys dig up a grave filled with bones of a female. Now the questions begs, who is she? Who murdered her and how long ago?

Between the alternating timeline, Josie’s past is revealed a little at a time. It was filled with heart breaking and awful emotional and physical abuse. We the reader get to see just how resilient she is to get where she is today. There has been some strange things happening in Josie’s life lately. Strange Craigslist being posted in her name and people showing up possibly to harm her. But who would do this. Does is have anything to do with the drug case that she was working one, or the new case of the bones? Or maybe a case of revenge for past cases. As the clues fall into place, it become clear just what is going on.

Of course this story wouldn’t be whole with out a few characters that play major parts this time around. Trinity, the sassy journalist is back and find herself swept up in all the mess that is going on. And Noah, oh Noah, how much I just adore him. Things are changing between him and Josie, but it does get kinda pushed aside with all that was going on. It was still so sweet and if there is anyone I’d like to see Josie be with, it’s him. He does everything he can to keep her safe. He makes for a great detective for sure.

Now back to the story, with some hair raising suspense and some cleverly placed little twists throughout, I could stop turning the pages. The tensions mounts with each page too, leading up one great climax! It made for one fantastic addition to the series. I am curious to see where Detective Quinn takes us next and maybe even to see her and Noah together too. Hopefully there more to this pretty amazing psychological thriller series!

Oh great review Jenea this one looks like something I would love. I love a series that opens up the character more in each segment and the hair raising is good too 🙂
